Many say “yes.” But most salespeople are guilty of poor use of humor.

They try to be funny, but they aren’t. Sharing GIFs or memes. Or cracking jokes that don’t land.

So it ends up awkward for the prospect—kind of like watching someone bomb on stage during a stand-up comedy set (which I’ve done many times).

There’s a balance for sure.

Show that you have a personality, and you’ll definitely stick out from most salespeople.

Especially when you’re prospecting.

The hard part is finding a balance between humor, showcasing your personality, and adding value.

And  is doing just that.

He’s a funny, nerdy (his words), and kills it with his cold outreach.
